Girls Weekend away – Get the girls together for a creative Shibori weekend away in beautiful Jervis Bay with renowned textile artist Helena Geiger. Bring the gorgeous blues to life with this unique indigo Shibori dyeing experience!
Shibori is the Japanese word for a variety of ways of embellishing textiles by shaping cloth and securing it before dyeing. The word comes from the verb root shiboru, “to wring, squeeze, press.” In this half day workshop, Helena will start by introducing Indigo Shibori Dyeing, the technique, tips and tricks on how to replicate this craft at home. Helena will also demonstrate different methods and what can be achieved. You will use a beautiful organic indigo dye which results in stunning shades of blue to create your very own dyed fabric. What a fun day!
