A must do in the Shoalhaven Region is a visit to the historical Coolangatta Estate that consists of fully restored convict buildings. Alive with history, the original convict-built village is now surrounded by sprawling vineyards and landscaped grounds, situated on the foothills of Mt. Coolangatta.

The history of Coolangatta Estate stretches back to the early 19th Century where the site was the first European settlement on the South Coast of NSW, Australia. These days it’s been restored to its former glory with the re-establishment of vineyards in the late 1980s.

During your visit, wine tasting is a must at the Cellar Door with a variety of wines available that are entirely Estate grown Shoalhaven Coast wines. In addition to lovely wines, there is Deli Fare available with (Fish, Meats, Cheeses, Olives). These can be used to make your own platters to enjoy outside or during your wine tasting.

The shop also sells locally produced jams, olives, gift packs, mustards, sauces etc., and naturally wines can be purchased at the Cellar Door.

Otherwise, dine in style at the Estate’s own restaurant called Alexander’s Grill, open for dinner Friday and Saturday night or for lunch Monday to Sunday. Saturday lunch menu includes live music from 12pm to 3.30pm.

Coolangatta Estate is located at 1335 Bolong Road, Coolangatta, only 39 kilometres from Huskisson on Jervis Bay.
